The Burdoe Estate

The Burdoe Estate is a heritage-sensitive residential redevelopment that brings together a new dwelling and carefully considered alterations and additions to an existing character residence across two adjoining lots. The design retains and responds to significant elements of the original built fabric while introducing contemporary living spaces, improved internal planning and a stronger connection between the homes and their landscaped surroundings. New architectural interventions are deliberately balanced with the scale, proportions and established character of the existing residence, creating a cohesive relationship between old and new. The overall composition also considers the shared site setting, circulation, landscape and outdoor living areas to form a unified residential environment while preserving the distinctive character of the property.
